Many counselors and experts of stress will advise their clients to get into some form of exercise program, be it tennis, golf, going to the gym, etc. Just be sure that you really enjoy the form of exercise you choose, because if you don’t really enjoy it you will not do it very long.
Many People at the beginning of the year, having made a resolution to lose weight or to get in shape, join a gym and maybe go the first couple of weeks and then just stop, even if they paid for a six months or more membership.
People who are suffering from heavy stress complain of weakness, sluggishness, lack of energy and feel they can not perform their daily work to the fullest.
If you do go through a stress management exercise program it is best to start with a walking program if you have not been active for a long time. It can become really enjoyable when you take the time to notice your surroundings. Things like the green bushes and plants, the chirping birds, the flowers, the different typres of buildings. There are many sights to see, people and animals, the sky, the cars many, many interesting things to see. You would be surprised at the many things there are to see that you can only see by walking, even if you walk fast. Plus walking briskly is very good exercise and will help you to start feeling better and less stressed.
Be sure if you do start on a stress management exerciseing program that you start slowly and do not strain yourself, for the following two reasons:
1. you might injure yourself if you try to do too much in the beginning.
2. It won’t be enjoyable if you are trying too hard and you will lose interest.
Therefore it is best to work at a comfortable pace and level. Also if you overburden yourself you might become more stressed and not less stressed. Only exercise at a level and frequency that you enjoy will help you become healthier and not one that you work so hard as to harm yourself. YOU WANT TO ENJOY YOURSELF!

Managing stress through exercising can benefit everyone, even if they have physical disabilities, or have a shortage of time or very low levels of fitness. By learning to listen to your body, you can assess and find out how your body is responding to specific types of exercises. Only you can feel how your body feels inside.
Here are some signs of over exhaustion if you feel any of these, cut down on your exercise routine or change the type of exercises that you are doing.
