CAN YOU HAVE LESS STRESS AT CHRISTMAS TIME?
Can you have less-stress at Christmas time?
Some tips for having less stress at Christmas time.
Every year it seems Christmas starts earlier and earlier. Stress starts to creep up
on you at this time of the year more than ever. There are ways around it to enjoy a
stress free Christmas by following some easy fast tips. Isn’t it time to have a
stress free Christmas for once?
As each year seams to go by faster and faster, it feels that Christmas comes quicker
and quicker. Plus Stores start trying to sell gifts earlier and earlier, or so it seams to
me. Here are some easy fast tips to have less stress this Christmas.
Christmas is really a time to spend time with family, relatives and close friends. So one way to help make this time of year less stressful is:
- write a Christmas card letter about your familie’s happenings of the years, that you can send to all the people on your list.
- If you have put your address book in your computer, just make address stickers of all the people you are mailing to. That way you don’t even have to write the address on the envelope.
- Contact your relatives early if you want to invite them to your party or especially if you want them for dinner on Christmas Day. This way you can work out who will bring what for Christmas dinner or for any other project that you plan to do.
- If you have Skype or Voip, you can talk to them computer to computer, which will save money that you can use for something else.
- We have to make sure there is enough in the budget for cards, presents, and everything that is needed for Christmas dinner or other party stuff. Out of all the holidays more money is spent on Christmas than any other holiday during the year. Making sure a budget is adhered to, will keep you as stress free as possible around Christmas and even after the holiday season is past.
- Christmas shopping is supposed to be one of the fun times you have during the Christmas season. It can also be a stress breaker or a stress maker depending on many different factors. In the past few years Christmas shopping has really been stressful as companies seem to produce fewer products this time of year. This means the stress of trying to find the perfect present becomes even greater. The easiest way to stay stress free is to plan ahead.
- Get your shopping list made early and have other options in case the store or companies are out of something.
- Or as some of my friends do, shop all year round for the people you
usually buy for. When you find something that you know your relative or loved one would like
buy it a save it for Christmas. This will make a more stress free shopping experience. - Christmas dinner could actually be the most stressful of all if you ask anyone who has
to be in the kitchen working on Christmas dinner. Planning is the key here as without
proper planning your stress level could go through the roof. Be sure you have a plan as to
when the different food has to be on the stove, or in the oven. If you can get a family
member to help, great, but many times that is not possible. If you don’t make a big dinner
also on Christmas Eve (Which my family does), than cooking or peeling and chopping could be
done on Christmas Eve. If you do that, then you will have much less to do on Christmas day. - Learn that it is more important to enjoy Christmas, than to be stressed the whole time during
the holiday season. But it does take planning.
You can even write a little summary of the month at the end of each month and than you would not have to write very much in December. Then in the beginning of December you just print and place the letter in the cards you send.
These tips should let you enjoy Christmas more with less-stress.
