Will relaxation techniques help reduce stress?  Yes, they can help a great deal and
you will find some techniques to use later in this post..

In these modern times everyone suffers from stress. And the main problem with that is
its effect on the body, mind and emotions.  Knowing some relaxation techniques will
help you have a good life.

If you are having a miserable day, or feeling stressed out or over tired, what you need
to do is to relax.

Many people might think that they relax by watching TV, but you are being bombarded with
commercials, ads, and many times with loud noises and many violent images.  This is not really a
way to relax the mind or even the body.

How do you feel after you have watched the news.  Are you cheerful and happy? Or are you
more stressed and a little depressed.  Well there are many ways to get relaxed, but TV
is not one of them.

Lets take a look at some relaxation techniques that will leave you feeling better and happier.

Although there are many ways to get stressed, such as rush hour traffic, or not meeting
deadlines at work, or not enough money, there are also many techniques to relax

Relaxation is very important so you don’t bring on illnesses, like heart disease or cancer.
Medical science has linked anger, irritability, and quilt to these diseases. Managing your
anger and attitude is significant to your heart health, ulcers and many other health
problems. Relaxation can help you manage your stress.

There are many different types of meditation that can help you to relax.  One of the best
and easiest is concentrating on your breathing.  You don’t control your breathing in any
way; all you do is pay attention to your breathing, just focus on your breathing. By just
doing this 5 to 10 minutes a day you will be more relaxed and have slowed your blood
pressure down and even reduced the thickness of your arterial walls, therefore you will be less likely to
have a heart attack or stroke. Your body will thank you and you will feel happier when
you have done this everyday for a few weeks.

There are other forms of breathing techniques that are also wonderful for relaxation.  Do you know that every emotion, physical condition, resistance, disturbance or tension or stress you have is connected
to your breath.   When you are stressed you breathe very shallow and rapidly, same is true when
you are angry or hurt emotionally and often times you even hold your breath.

Stretching is another way to relax. Not only will stretching help you to relax, it will
release muscular tension and align the body.  Stretching creates flexibility, improves
blood circulation and lymphatic drainage.  Stretching is a wonderful relaxation technique
that even keeps your body young.

Another relaxation technique is exercise, especially any form of aerobics which gets your
blood flowing.  Even walking at a good pace, it is not necessary to walk very fast or to
run, will relax you.  If you are angry or very stressed you could even beat up a pillow,
that is a very good way to get rid of anger and to reduce stress.  Hitting a golf ball at
a golf range, or hitting a tennis ball against a backboard, both are very good relaxation
techniques.

How about having a massage? Going to a professional massage therapist is a fantastic way
to relax.  It also helps with blood circulation, muscle tension, and many other things.
There are many different types of massages, so test a few out.

These are just some of the techniques for relaxation.

Tomorrow I will talk about other relaxation techniques

Thanks for this, it seems to me that this is indeed a large topic with diverse and opposite potential takes on it.
